Courses at Cakes 4 Fun
Welcome to our summer schedule of classes in which I hope you will find something fun to try!

We had very good feedback from students attending our spring courses and have created this schedule to include classes you have all been asking for, including the following topics:

  • Creating fun cup cakes
  • Icing and decorating individual mini cakes
  • Creating sugar flowers
  • Applying printed edible images to cake
  • Modelling teddy bears to miniature sugar handbags
  • Sculpting 3D cakes including Barbie doll cakes, handbags and a pirate ship.
  • Creating Starburst cakes


We have also introduced a chocolate day with guest tutor Erica Galvin. Erica will take you through the differences between working with milk, white and dark chocolate paste. You will learn how to cover a cake, make chocolate roses and fans, and explore a range of other cake decorating equipment that can be used with the chocolate paste, such as moulds, and beadmakers. We finish the class with a short transfer sheet demonstration. There will be further chocolate dates available in the winter lesson schedule.

Our classes will now include within the listed price, where applicable, a cake, butter cream and jam, icing, chocolate paste and use of basic tools such as non stick boards, rolling pins, turn tables etc. The course equipment lists issued for each class will detail the tools, boards, cutters etc you will need to bring with you on the day.

Anyone booking a course from our schedule by the 31st of May will receive a free 10% voucher redeemable against purchases from the Cakes 4 Fun shop.

Our classes in cake decoration and sugarcraft techniques are designed to appeal to all levels from a complete beginner who has never made a cake in their life to those already at an advanced stage and looking for specialist help in developing their skills.

In addition to our half day and full day courses, we also offer private tuition, either one to one, or for a group, on a wide range of cake making topics. Please contact us to discuss.

The above schedule has a mix of modelling classes, sugar flower work, cup cakes and individual cake decoration, chocolate work and basic cake decoration techniques to achieve a professional finish - if you would like to learn something currently not listed - please contact us to let us know so we can include a class in our next term which will run September to December. Private lessons for groups and individuals also available - please contact us to discuss.

Where applicable, course price includes cake, icings and fillings. Non-stick rolling boards and large rolling pins will be provided. Students will need to purchase or bring their own equipment (i.e. cake boards, cake boxes, tools etc). A full equipment list will be provided for each course and all items will be available to purchase from the Cakes4Fun shop.
